THE LARGEST FRENCH PHOTOVOLTAIC POWER PLANT… SIGNED BY SUNVIE

8000 m² of photovoltaic panels are at the base of an innovative and very original power plant.

It was commissioned on June 12th, 2008 in the E. Leclerc shopping center in Saint Aunès (South of France).

Sunvie worked relentlessly during 2 years to achieve what was at the date the biggest photovoltaic power plant in mainland France. The latter is located on the parking lot of the E. Leclerc shopping center in Saint-Aunès (North-East of Montpellier in the South of France).

The parking lot was equipped with twelve 85 m long “Ombrières”, shading 816 parking places.

On these « Ombrières » were installed 5 472 photovoltaic panels on a total surface of 8045 m². The panels can produce 1.42 GWh per year, that’s to say the annual consumption of more than 400 families (excluding heating consumption).

SAINT-AUNÈS POWER PLANT

SAINT-AUNÈS POWER PLANT

The electricty generated by the photovoltaic panels in Saint Aunès should prevent the emission of 1 664 tons of CO2 equivalent per year.

Developed and patented by Sunvie

The photovoltaic « Ombrière de parking» was imagined and patented by Sunvie.

This innovative, convenient and aesthetic concept:

  • Transforms your parking lots into a photovoltaic power plant, thus exploiting an otherwise unused surface to produce a clean and renewable energy,

  • Protects the vehicles from the sun and the rain,

  • Provides money savings by selling back to the grid the electricity generated.
